The magic of this stretch selvedge is that you get the authentic selvedge, but it is much easier to wear.

And that alone explains why great stretch selvedge is much sought after.

Interestingly, to weave a stretch denim on a 1920's shuttle loom is far from easy. You have to remember that it is woven on a loom that was used 50 years before stretch jeans were invented.

So to perfect a stretch selvedge, they had to make some alterations to the looms. It took a lot of learning.

And a lot of tweaking.

Exactly what those changes were, well, they are not willing to share that information.

That will remain a secret.

And who can blame them?
